A container for food and water. A naturally found object. The ability to use them is the key to survival.

Balance is achieved only when knowledge acquired is used wisely. The objects resting nicely on each other - Is knowledge acquired for display, or necessary for one's existence?

Is There Any More Room? Plaster and Wood. 2004.


Mini-installation of cone-like structures on a block of unpolished wood. Arrangement of the structures likened the placement of the orderly structured system one goes through in life. How orderly it can be depends on the way it is displayed. The various sizes represent the different age range. While the younger one is looked after by the older, the oldest dominates. The space given in between likened the respect one place to someone of a higher seniority. The most senior will not only dominates but also given the most space.

Transformation takes place, sitting on blocks of wood of different heights. From a non-functional object, to a possible function - a vessel, a container? Am I containable? Am I the container of the knowledge and experiences? Or just a vessel?
